New distributions added to waiting list Incognito.
Incognito is an open-source live media based on Gentoo Linux that focuses on providing a way to use the Internet securely and anonymously. It can be used from either a CD or a USB drive and has several Internet applications
(web browser, IRC client, mail client and instant messenger) pre-configured with security in mind, with all Internet traffic anonymised.

It has been a while since last time, but progress have been made continuously albeit at a lower pace than before due to IRL stuff. I'm hoping for a release within a month or so, but some of the changes made have proven to be more difficult to get right than I first anticipated (mainly compilation problems and crashes due to system hardening with grsec) so I cannot promise anything.
After numerous requests I've finally set up a discussion forum for Incognito. There should be a link for it in the menu to the left. From now on I guess this will be the preferred way to report bugs etc. since the correspondence will be available for everyone to benefit from.
There is no particular need for beta testing in Windows any longer as quite a few people have contacted me about that already. In fact, that feature might be dropped soon (or at least made “unsupported”) since QEMU for Windows isn't working that well (in particular in Windows Vista). At some later date a switch to VirtualBox might solve all this.
2008.1-r1 released, beta testers wanted

It has been reported that one of the advertised features of Incognito doesn't work in the 2008.1 release, the possibility to run Incognito in Microsoft Windows through the QEMU installation it ships with. The problem was a single backslash (\) in a script that the new QEMU version (0.9.1) didn't like, but which the previous version (0.9) didn't mind.
Because of this I'm releasing Incognito 2008.1 revision 1, which fixes this issue (plus a few unimportant cosmetic changes that no one really should notice or care about). Those of you that have already downloaded 2008.1 but don't use this feature do not need to download 2008.1-r1.
While every Incognito release is more or less a beta release at this stage...
